Forest Garden

Erick Easton’s three and a half aces on Line Creek are a permascape paradise. There we find a forest garden full of papas, hazel nuts, walnuts, wild ginger and blackberries situated almost under Interstate 29 north of Riverside. With the help o f Food Not Lawns Volunteers we converted part of a lawn and an overgrown, abandon garden into a minimal till 28′ x 28′ sweet potato patch. Erick who is an artist, blacksmith and welder created a one of a kind gate for the Red Flag Garden. When I saw the gate I thought of walking up the Valley Path to the Mountain Top.
