Martin’s Orchid Garden

My friends the honey bees gathering nector
This is another of my In Your Yard CSAs. In the Line Creek Valley 7001 Waukomis Dr this 1,5 acre homestead was built by Harold and Betty Martin and their family. Harold was one of the founders of the Kansas City Orchid Society. He built a four hundred square foot greenhouse to raise his prize orchids. Since Harold’s stroke he has been unable to maintain and enjoy his garden. I am blessed to be able to grow healthful food on this Sacred land and continue the Early Missourians, the Hopewell, Nebo Hills Peoples and Harold’s connection to the Fertile Ground. Oh its so Fertile and black, Thousands of years of periodic flooding has enriched this alluvial plane with one of Missouri’s’ most fertile soil. We have two beehives. A black cherry grove, bamboo, horseradish, asparagus, peaches, profuse flowers, poppies. Other gifts I haven’t discovered yet. I will be happy growing your food here.
